HISTORY
Managing Director Mark Shillaber had been tuning engines since his teenage years.
In those early days, realising the potential for advantage, a fascination with cylinder head flow brought about a self-built air flow test bench, hours were spent unravelling what really made heads work.
What started as a hobby turned into a hobby – business and eventually into a fully fledged limited company
being established in 2002.
From the early years a string of championships and class record successes followed, including :
South West Regional Autocross Championship & second in the National Finals
2 Brisca F2 World Championships
5 Brisca F2 European Championships
3 Brisca F2 Dutch Open Championships
7 Brisca F2 National Points Championships
Speedworth Superstox World Championship
3 ORCI Saloon Stox World Championships
Outright Gurston Speed Hill Climb Championship
Outright Semsec Saloon and Sports Car Circuit Race Championship
Historic Racing Car Championship, including outright championship in Historic Formula Three
Mark applied much of the Ford Pinto knowledge learned from his hillclimb & sprint engine development days
to build the incredible number of wins in Brisca F2 racing.
With the advent of a new engine test facility,
SRD Ltd have set their ambitions on success in other disciplines, mainly rallying.
Already in 2012 a Historic Spec Ford Pinto engine has been developed and
Ford Duratec 2.0 and 2.5 Litre engine development for modern classes is well under way for 2013.
